I'm Ioana and I'm very happy you found your way to my page!

I used to bake every weekend. During the pandemic, I started working from home, which allowed me to spend more and more time in the kitchen - cooking and baking and experimenting with new recipes to create healthy and delicious recipes .. and this is how I came up with the idea of creating this site. 

In 2016 I moved to Germany, and I noticed that here there is a time of the day for coffee and cake. I come from Romania where we only eat cakes on special occasions, birthdays and holidays like Christmas and Easter. I don’t remember ever baking a cake before I came to Germany. I used to cook some of my mother’s soups ( ciorba ), I made some polenta every now and then, and prepared some easy meals like Spaghetti Bolognese, but nothing fancy. 

My boyfriend is a great cook! I have never met a man as talented in the kitchen as he is. He used to prepare great meals for me, all made from scratch. He introduced me to so many different spices - now we don't have enough room for them in our kitchen anymore. Florian taught me how to cook healthy and delicious. 
Although he is a great cook, he hates to bake, but loves to eat pies and cakes, that is why I took over this ‘department’. 

At the beginning I was not at all good at baking. It either looked good and tasted bad or the other way around. The result was always a surprise. I was convinced that, I couldn’t invite any of my friends for coffee and cake, until I knew it is an "eatable" dessert. 

With time and practice, I got better and better and today I am really proud of my results. My deserts are delicious and beautiful to look at. I evolved and I developed a sense of how the dough and creams should look like, feel like and taste like. I became more and more creative and after I become inspired on the internet and social media, I adapt the recipes as I consider it suits me and my taste. 

I bake and cook with organic products, I reduce the quantity of sugar as much as I can, and I choose the best product that I can get on the local markets close to my home. 

Because of some health issues, I had in the past, I have gained much experience with special diets like gluten free, low histamine, vegan and vegetarian. 

I work out 4-5 times per week and I’m interested in finding out more about the amount of macro nutrients which I eat with every meal. This is why I pass this information along in my recipes.
